Xperia XA dual having microphone problem

My main microphone stopped working yesterday. Tried doing a bunch of solutions without any luck.
I tried:
Restarting the phone
Xperia companion software repair
Factory reset
Disabling "OK google"

Nothing seems to help.
Sony, please advise

Hi @khalilk, I am very sorry to hear about that.

Just to make sure, can you try to test the microphone in the Diagnostics app to see if you experience the same behaviour there as well? To do so, go to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Microphone. Can you hear your recording here? Also, try to record a video with the camera app and see if there is sound.

If you are still unable to get the hear anything from the Microphone, then I recommend that you send in your device to an authorized service center. To do so, I recommend that you get in touch with your Local support in order to be assisted.

I tried Diagnostics and recorded a video. There is just a crackling sound.

Note: The second mic is working fine when I use the loudspeaker during a call.

In that case I recommend that you get in touch with your Local support, so that they may assist you in having your device delivered to an authorized service center.

I had a flight the next day i posted the above. In flight i thought i'd try the diagnostics again and the microphone worked. Not sure what happened, but i was really pleased about it.

Xperia XA Mic issue

Hello!

I've got a problem with my phone. When I make a call, person on the other side does not hear me well. I've make a diagnostic test and both mic's are working but during the call, the top mic is active instead of the bottom one. Of course after reboot first call is fine (bottom mic is active). Reset to default has been made but didn't solve the issue.
Does anyone had similar problem?

I also have a problem with the mic. I can hear the person on the other end clearly but they can't seem to get me properly. An echo sound is what they hear. Kindly advise ASAP!!!

I also have the muted mike issue. Have turned off 🆗 google. It works for a bit if I do a restart but it's the luck of the draw when you make or receive a phone call whether they will hear you or not. Would really like to be able to fix this.

Hi everyone, I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing such behaviour.

I'm afraid that the first troubleshooting step would be to try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion in order to see if it's software related.

If the behaviour still persists after the software repair, then it would be best to let a technician at an authorized service center have a look at it. Try to describe the behaviour in detail and that it may be at random intervals, this will make it easier for the service center to replicate what you are experiencing in order to examine it given the behaviours random nature.

To have your device sent to an authorized service center, it is a good idea to get in touch with your Local support so that they can advice you further on how to proceed. I would gladly give you service instructions, but since I'm based in the Nordics I'm afraid I do not have information regarding how other markets handle servicing. For this reason it's best to let the local team assist you.

The problem comes and goes sporadically. I had my problem come back last week and then it went away after 4 days. I was using my headphones all the time.

It is best to see a tech as Emir suggests.

I bought XA ultra dual everything working fine apart mic while making calls my voice can't hear clearly to other end guys but I able to hear them clearly.

Also searching solutions Stil I didn't get

Just one month's over

Note ;when reboot the phone it's working fine some hours only that after same issue occurred

Longs days I wait for Sony phone after I bought XA

I love Sony

Pleas help me for resolve the mic issue

Even me too facing this same issue,

I bought a new Xperia xa ultra dual for Rs:28000/ but whenever I am making calls others cannot hear my voice but i can properly hear them..... I spend this much, even for thousand Rupees phone does not have this issue....

Whenever i restart my phone, it will be ok for some hrs... After some time the same issue is repeating

Yes, i do. And it has been there since the very beginning. The other person cannot hear me most of the time. I always have to use earphones to talk at that time. And this problem has been continuous since last 3 days. Earlier it used to be maximum 1 day at a stretch.
