problems with memory card and on/off button

Phone does not recognise sd memory card andI am unable to mount or unmount sd memory card. I am also having problems with the on/off button instead of holding for a sec or 2 I have to keep holding for at least 5/10 secs and when the lock screen appears it asks if I want to power off restart or take screen shot before I can swipe left.

I would like some help and advice please

not sure how to get it to safe mode but there is something wrong with the power button as well. It takes ages to get to locked screen then a few seconds longer for the home screen once you swipe it. I purchased the phone at the end of Sept this year so its only a few weeks old. The memory card issue is not a one off as this is the 2nd memory card I have installed and I have lost precious photos of my late mum on the 2 memory cards as well as photos of my great niece but these I can get copies of but I cannot get copies of my late mum

I managed to get phone into safe mode and the phone is still taking longer than it should to get into locked screen and home page Cameron seeing as phone is only 5wks old I think I may take it back to the store I purchsed it from.

I have tried other sd memory cards in it and the phone still does not recognise external memory

I am sorry to hear this @jacktherussell.

Try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion as a last step. If there is a software related reason that this is happening, the software repair should fix it.

I am in the middle of doing a software repair . I had completely forgot my gmail account and I tried 3 passwords all wrong lol so think I been locked out for the 24hrs but as soon as I can carry on with the set up I will let you know if the problems have been sorted or not . Fingers crossed it does and I dont have to ask for a repair lol.

Hi CameronT

I am still having problems with my phone. Everytime I try and put my gmail address in with new password it locks me out and I have to wait 24hrs before I can try again and I get an error message "unable to sign in unknown error" Nothing seems to be working with everything I have tried so far and I am getting very fustrated with my phone .

I think its time for me to ask how I go about getting it repaired for on/off button and get it sorted so that it recognises the memory card. If you could please advise me on how to send it for repair.

If you have changed your Google password you will need to wait until the 24 hours is up before it will allow you to enter it. Unfortunately we do not have a way around this. If you change it again, please note that you will reset that timer.

At this point I am afraid you will have to wait a bit.

I changed the password two days ago and it works on my laptop yet it doesnt on the phone. Is there a page where I can fill out for sending it for repair if I still unable to get phone working

You will need to contact your Local support team if you wish to arrange a repair.
