You could flash a custom ROM but your current phone it's a bit old and like I said, apps are getting heavier and more hardware demanding.

I'm sorry to say this, but there's nothing anyone can do, check the XDA Forum, you might be able to find custom ROMs

Also, there won't be any further updates for this phone, the last update was more than 2 years ago. The phone was released 3 years ago.
