Remote not working on KD-55XF9005

Remote control is functioning as confirmed with the smartphone camera trick. Batteries replaced anyway.

Following the Sony troubleshooting, I've got as far as resetting the TV to factory, but of course cannot get any further as the remote doesn't work!

Before factory reset, the TV recognised the "voice" button on the remote, but only that button, none of the others were recognised. The sound-bar recognised the sound-bar remote but not the TV remote. The TV also does not respond to the set top box remotes volume controls.

The TV recognised the remote only hours earlier when placing into standby.

It seems to me the TV receiver is the problem, can anyone confirm?

Make sure nothing is obscuring the magic eye on your set, such as a soundbar in front of it. The magic eye is very low down on these sets.

Also, wipe the magic eye location to ensure it is clean.

When you use the remote, do you see no response from the TV, or do you see the magic eye flicker, but do nothing?

Have you tried this? :-

Reset the remote control.

Open the battery compartment cover and remove the batteries.
Press and hold the Power button for three seconds.
Insert the batteries again and close the battery compartment cover.
