Anyone know how to disable the tv speakers so I can use tv remote to control the volume on my Canton sound base.The remote will control the Canton but tv speakers also respond to the remote.Dazed and confused.Thanks.

Hi Robert, welcome to the Community

Are you connecting the sound base via a digital audio connection on the TV? That should cancel the TV's built-in speakers and feed audio only to the sound base.

I'm not sure if your Canton has HDMI, but using the ARC HDMI interface is by far the best way of hooking up external audio. This recent post explains things a little more.

Mick, many thanks for your response to my question. My Canton does not have a HDMI connector.I am using the digital optical connector.It also has digital coaxial and aux analogue.
