That's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard - do you honestly think this forum would be bursting at the seams with dissatisfied vaio owners if the vaio was a mac in disguise??
I own a macbook pro as well as 3 vaio notebooks and I've never had any trouble with it since I bought it. Mind you, had only minor problems with one or two of the vaio notebooks (been lucky I guess) and has to be said - the problems has ALWAYS been caused by using the vaio updates - I don't use them nowadays and on the rare occasions when I do, I always ghost my boot partition first and usually end up reverting back afterwards and wish I hadn't bothered.
Vaio support is also absolute rubbish - they know nothing. Their 'help' revolves around uninstalling and reinstalling - or using the restore partition.
I wouldn't ever buy another vaio laptop - I'm apple all the way now.
