sound volume control doesn't work with VGX XL 202

Hi everybody,

I am absolutely disappointed of the performance of both my vaio VGX-XL 202 and the support services of sony. I am desperately looking for somebody who can solve a very simple problem:

changes in the master volume level do not lead to any change in the actual volume output at the speakers. I suspect a malfunction in the sound chip but am not sure. I have lost already several months with the telefone and e-support and my frustration about these guys is hard to put in words..... Does anybody have the same problem?

System: vaio VGX XL 202, Windows XP MCE, fresh factory installation, TV via HDMI1, Teufel sound system (active 2 way stereo) via analog Cinch

Am I really the only one with these problems? The vaio support is not capable and/or willing to help!

You need to use the following utility that will change the master volume for windows. Just put it in you startup folder and all should be well. If you serach for mce volume tracker a wealth of info comes up.
