ATI-Catalyst upgrades on VAIO notebooks

Why is it not possible to install the newest Catalyst on a VGN-A317M with a X600 chipset? The new Cat. 5.10 supports this graphic adapter.(see ATI´s homepage)

Because ATi do not support notebook graphics card, that is up to the manufacturer, eg Sony
