Unable to download photos

Hi,

I am trying to download photos from my Sony Cybershot DSC-S730 but Windows is reporting that the file name, directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect. 

When i browse the camera as a drive through my computer i can see the files stored within the camera memory card are of random characters:

Any ideas what has happened here?

How can i download my photos?

I can view the photos on the camera iteslf but cannot download them.

Hi,

It looks like the file system on memory card has become corrupt, did you card come with some recovery software, if so try that.  If you can see the files try copying them off the card and renaming them using alpha characters, if that fails try renaming them on the card.

If you cannot recover them you could look to third party recovery companies but they cost.  If you can live without the photos I'd suggest reformating the card in camera.
